I am Spencer Latterman and I need your help with my Mitzvah (good deed) project. In August 2014, my family and I traveled to Uganda to have my Bar Mitzvah in a small Jewish village. For my Mitzvah project, I am continuing to raise money to buy fertile goats to give to the orphans in the nearby villages. These orphans' parents have been killed by AIDS, malaria, and other horrible diseases. The orphans are stricken with poverty. By donating a goat, the orphan's life can be changed completely. An orphan can afford school, medicine, and food by selling the offspring. Once the orphan's goat has produced enough offspring to start a substantial business, the next female offspring will go to another child in need. Goats are given to children and families of all religions because the goal is to promote sustainability thoughout each village in Uganda.
While in Uganda, I was able to meet many of the children and present them with their goats. We also brought 100 "Spencer's Goat Project" T-shirts to give to the kids. It was amazing to see their faces and hear how their lives can be changed by this project. To date, we have raised over $25,000, enough to help well over 500 children! I have posted some of the pictures from my trip.
Although we have returned from Uganda, I am trying to keep the goat project going in order to save as many children as we can. Won't you buy a goat for $125? Please click on the button below to buy and name your goat(s):
